The new word for people working from home is "telecommute" and it makes it seem like it is something new for someone to work at home. The fact is there have been many type of home based employment throughout the years but the internet has opened up a whole new world for people seeking jobs online. This has created a new workplace leader and it is not some large corporation or government. The internet workplace can be found in every city and every country in the world as anyone with a computer can set up office and work from home.

The opportunities run a vast range of skills and many can be found for folks with no experience at all. Market research companies that used to lease office space and invite people via mail to attend surveys and focus groups in there offices have now found it much easier and cost effective to set up shop online as well. Even Avon can be sold online instead of having to set-up parties and get everyone together at one house. Now you can just set up your Avon site and collect payment via online credit card transactions.

The pool of people looking to find a home job is so large that the supply can barely keep up with the demand. Any company that wants to advertise their online job quickly find a army of potential telecommuters knocking on their virtual door and ready to work. It does not matter if you want to make a few extra dollars part time, a full time income or even establish a full blown home based business there is something out there for everyone.

It makes me wonder if someday people will get up and go to work to find there are no linger any rush hour traffic. Everyone will be at home working in there PJ's,
